Last of Peonies

I get so excited every summer when I see peonies at the grocery store or at the farmer's market. They are such a special flower because their season is so fleeting, and they're SO pretty. Although I am a little bit sad that I have not been able to spot them at Trader Joe's in recent weeks, I am quite excited for the next season to arrive {AKA FALL!!}. Cheers to peonies, you had a great run this summer! :)

Ginger Jar Corner

I remember my mom's collection of blue and white ginger jars growing up; she loved her collection of blue and white anything, and I wish I would have asked for her collection before she donated them to Goodwill! {especially now that they are back in style..oops!} I found this one at Home Goods, and it was the perfect price {especially with a gift card}, and I hope to add more to my collection. I love the ones at William-Sonoma Home {like this one and this one}, and will definitely be keeping my eye out for ones at antique and thrift stores. Blue and white is my favorite color combo, and ginger jars can really add to any space :)

Currently Coveting: July

Happy July! It always feels like the middle of summer once Fourth of July comes, when we've been out of town for a ton of weddings and beach trips, and when it's been SO HOT that all you want to do is hibernate in the A.C. Apertivo

I love having friends over for dinner, drinks, apertivo - whatever! I also love keeping it so simple so it is stress-free for everyone.  A simple cheese plate, easy-to-assemble bruschetta, and plenty of rosé is my go-to. We got this Butternut Brooklyn cheese board for a wedding gift and it is a kitchen/entertaining favorite; Riedel wine glasses {these} are pretty perfect for white wine or rosé. For the bruschetta, I sliced a French baguette and topped it with fresh mozzarella, chopped fresh basil, roasted cherry tomatoes with garlic, EVOO, and balsamic. Just add jazz music, fresh flowers, a great candle {Candlefish No. 40  is what I burned this night, one of my faves}, and great company, and you've got the perfect evening :)

Summer

Friday, I'm In Love: Rosé on Ice

Happy Friday! We made it {almost}! It is so nice and warm here, and it makes me want to keep rosé in an ice bucket permanently. I plan on indulging in quite a bit of it this weekend, along with maybe a trip to the farmer's market, maybe cat yoga {!!!}, and plenty of Netflix and sleep. Cheers to the weekend! :)

Friday, I'm In Love: Matches

Happy Friday! Trying so hard to get my weekly post in. Last week was not great {oops}, but I wanted to pick it up again this week. SO excited the weekend is finally here, and looking forward to lighting some candles and much relaxation. And speaking of lighting candles, I have this thing for matches, and collect them at every bar/restaurant we go to that has them. We had some made for our wedding {thanks Etsy}, and had a lot of leftovers, which makes for the prettiest little addition to our place. Sometimes it's the little things that you have to appreciate :)

March Babies

Happy Friday! What a month. Life has been crazy, but good. I turned 30 {ahhhh} and celebrated all weekend in beautiful Charleston. And this little angel celebrated her 2nd birthday/rescue day yesterday. My new goal is to post on here once per week {leaning towards home/decor/entertaining/food focus..}; I know I have been very neglectful, and I really do miss my creative outlet! Goals for this weekend: snag as many flowers/herbs/plants at 3Porch Farm on Saturday, maybe do a little cleaning/tidying up, and drinking my favorite rosé {here} all weekend. Cheers :)

Spring

Spring has sprung! I firmly believe that it is spring officially beginning on March 1st, and I am so excited for warmer weather, patios, rosé + rosé + rosé, and plenty of spring fashion. I now associate endless pink flowers paired with blue + white decor, so that is my current spring inspiration at home. Friday, I'm In Love: Last of Winter

Happy Friday! Another fail this week of not posting, but work has sure been busy. I cannot believe this is the last weekend of February, and that spring is basically here. I plan on spending the last weekend of "winter" cozied up with lots of vino, an amazing candle {obsessed with Bijou candles, check out here}, and making a heavy, meat-centric meal {trying this Food52 recipe, I figured it was my last chance to make something heavy with the warm weather creeping in}. Friday, I'm In Love: Weekend Getaway

 Happy Friday! After being homebodies thus far in 2017, we are excited to get out of town in Hilton Head for the weekend to see family. Looking forward to wine, seafood, and the smell of salt water in the air. Cheers!

Mani Monday

 Happy Monday! I've really been alternating between my 2 favorite Deborah Lippmann polishes this month, and one of them is "Stormy Weather." I love dark nail polish, and this one is so chic without being too dark. My BaubleBar {sign up here} bracelet has also been a staple this month, along with celebrating strong, inspiring women who make this country great. With all of the hatred and ignorance being spewed, it's nice to remember her eloquent words: when they go low, we go high :)

Date Night at Home

We've been doing a pretty good job this month of staying in, and eating out less. Although sometimes it's nice to go out for dinner or brunch, I have really embraced the concept of "date night at home." It's something I really look forward to almost every Friday, and I've figured out a few key items to making date night at home a success. These items include great ambiance {candles, great home decor that makes me happy, music}, using our new kitchenware, cookware, and dining/entertaining items, and a comfy yet chic sweater..that goes perfectly with leggings {or sweatpants..}, and a fun, new recipe. A New Orleans Honeymoon

Planning a honeymoon was a little tricky for us; we knew we wanted to go somewhere for at least a few days, but didn't have time for the typical weeklong tropical destination honeymoon. New Orleans was a pretty obvious choice being that it is close to home {quick flights are always great}, and arguably one of the best cities in the U.S.! It was an amazing trip, and of course went by way too fast. It was wonderful to basically plan a trip around food {our restaurant choices: Peche, Willa Jean, N7, Cochon, and Commander's Palace - would recommend all of them!}, and wander around this beautiful, magical city with my new husband :) I cannot get back to that city fast enough, and laissez les bon temps roulez!
