Friday, I'm In Love: Palm Trees

Happy Friday! This week I am feeling pretty grateful for palm trees. Even though I have lived in the south for over 6 months now, I still get excited each time I spot one. This weekend we are heading out of town again for Florida, and I cannot wait to be surrounded by family, a white sand beach, and palm trees :)

Peonies + Stripes

Unfortunately, it is already so warm in Georgia that peony season is already over {I'm devastated! Anyone know where I can get some peonies in Athens!?} But peonies and stripes are two things that really make me feel like summer has arrived. Statement Collar

When it comes to statement necklaces, I typically go for the bold, bright colored ones. Back when Jewelmint collaborated with Luv AJ for a fab collection of gold and pearl pieces, I bought the chain accessory necklace which is not my usual style; I loved how it is worn on a collared shirt, such a unique statement piece. It also reminds me to think outside the box when shopping for new jewelry/accessories :)

Summer Road Trip

I have one summer road trip down, and a few more planned. I LOVE road trips, but packing for them can be kind of tricky. I've found that a good make-up bag, a comfy maxi dress, and a great pair of sunglasses are essentials; the only item I am truly missing is a convenient sized piece of luggage that can fit all of my clothes AND fit in the trunk of my car! {Image via This Is Glamorous}

Friday, I'm In Love: Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day weekend! This Friday I am feeling very grateful for a long weekend away in Lake Lure, North Carolina for a good friend's wedding. There's nothing like being on the water when the weather is beautiful and sunny {such as our little trip to Sullivan's Island back in March!} Cheers to spending time with amazing friends in a gorgeous location ALL WEEKEND! Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend :)

Etsy is arguably my favorite site EVER for online shopping, and finding new brands and small businesses to support is something I do best. I recently discovered Artemer Jewelry Design's incredible gold and rose gold jewelry, and I want ALL of it {shop here}; their rings are gorgeous and the turquoise, emeralds, and champagne diamonds would be a perfect addition to my collection :)

Friday, I'm In Love

I typically blog four days per week, and part of that reason is because I have not thought of a uniquely themed Friday post. I used to always do a fashion + philanthropy post on Fridays, but I got bored and uninspired by the similar content each week. Being that Friday is probably my favorite day of the week, and most of my favorite blog posts by other bloggers are posted on Fridays, I spent a few months trying to think of something that inspires me but is also original. I've decided that each Friday I will post something {I hope for it to mostly be my own photography} that has inspired me that week or makes me excited for the weekend. Or anything, really! I post about fashion-related items all week so Fridays can be my day to slow down and post about something that I feel grateful for. For my first "Friday, I'm In Love" post, I am sharing a photo from a special night here in Georgia back in August. It was my first time visiting Athens, and it was peach season in The Peach State so I made our first dessert in our new place: peach cobbler! This is also the first and only time I've used these gorgeous dessert plates {purchase at Anthropologie here}; I hope this inspires me to try a new dessert recipe and an excuse to bust these plates out again. Spring Vibes

Waistcoat

I know I mentioned yesterday {here} that it's warm enough outside for white, summer dresses, but part of me won't give up the idea of light, spring jackets quite yet. Like this waistcoat, so gorgeous and light enough that I don't think it would be too much to wear in this weather {plus, it doesn't have sleeves}. I actually think it would be perfect in Georgia this time of year, maybe I will have to add it to my wardrobe... :)

White Dresses

Although Memorial Day weekend is 2 weeks away, it's HOT outside and definitely feels like spring is over {so sad!}. I've never been one to follow fashion rules like "No white before Memorial Day or after Labor Day", and especially with it feeling like summer outside, I don't plan on following that rule anytime soon. Spring is quite beautiful here in Georgia, and I wish it would just stay like this all through summer {and not get up into the 90s like it will be soon...}. Spring Scents

When I burn candles at home, I always coordinate which scent I use with the appropriate season. For spring, I've been loving Common Good's "Bergamot" {purchase here}. It's perfect for this time of year and makes our place smell amazing! I've also been burning Rewined Candles' "Rosé" {here} and Candle with a Cause's "Strawberries and Lilac" {here}. Any other suggestions for spring-appropriate candles would be appreciated! :)

Spring Wallpaper Inspiration

It's been said that you can find inspiration anywhere, and I've recently found it somewhere quite unexpected: wallpaper! This gorgeous {and GREEN} rabbit and mushroom wallpaper looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland, and it just reminds me of spring. I wish I could put this in a bedroom or bathroom, but instead I'll let it inspire some spring fashion picks - the perfect spring blazer, shades, perfume {a favorite scent!}, and green nail polish!
