Even though I've lived in the southeast region for almost 2 years, it still gives me a special feeling when I see palm trees. Maybe it's because they remind me of vacation and beautiful places, but seeing them never gets old. I am looking forward to a weekend in Charleston, being surrounded by plenty of palm trees :) Cheers!

Bakeware
I have mentioned earlier {here} that I have tried to take up baking, and I think I am slowly getting the hang of it {event though I have not tried anything too tricky.} This new hobby has made me more interested in bakeware items, and below are some that are not only functional but also beautiful. Maybe I should just register for all of these... :)

Crostini Happy Hour
I love Friday nights at home more than pretty much anything. It's become a tradition that once we are home, we open some wine or make a cocktail, and I'll cook either a new recipe or one of our favorites {it usually involves pasta and/or seafood}. This usually ends in Netflix and slowly falling asleep on the couch. I changed up our Friday tradition recently by making a little apertivo before dinner. I love bruschetta/crostini of all kinds, and I thought a little crostini happy hour at home would be a fun way to kick off the weekend. I sort of created my own with a baguette, goat cheese, sliced peaches, a little balsamic, and topped with a sprig of thyme grown in our little herb garden. This, along with rosé and sparkling water, might have to become a new tradition! Some other crostini recipes I either love or want to try include this Giada favorite, this Smitten Kitchen one, and this array from Bon Appétit. Cheers to Fridays and happy hours at home! :)

Independent
I love supporting small businesses and artisans for so many reasons, but the main reason is because their products are always better and more beautiful than anything you can get from a large corporate brand. Scoutmob {check out here} is one of my favorite sites that offers the most amazing pieces from independent designers and artists; below are a few favorites currently available that I would love to add to our home and my closet:

Old and New
I'm back! After a week without internet and lots of moving/packing/unpacking, I am back to blogging and am feeling pretty awesome about our new place. We still have a lot to do {and decorate}, but we are settling in faster than either one of us thought. Even though we've been going back to our old neighborhood any chance we get {missing Five Points Bottle Shop and Independent Baking Co. in particular}, I know we will fall in love with our new place :)

Dog Days of Summer
It is HOT down here. So much so that it makes me wish for cooler, fall nights immediately. That being said, there are a few good things about the dog days of summer, which include lots of hydrangeas, summer fashion {sundresses and hats, duh!}, summer hued nails, and light scented candles that smell just like summer {image via This Is Glamorous}:

Cheers
It may be Monday, and we may be in the midst of moving hell, but we are also saying "cheers" to our last night in our first home together, and to our new place! Like I mentioned here, I cannot wait to set up and decorate - after we stop living out of boxes! And probably getting take-out all week. Now, time to pop a bottle :)

Summer Clutch
Although this clutch is not technically just for summer, it's blue tones makes it feel perfect for this time of year. It is kind of an oldie, but definitely a goodie; J.Crew makes some of my favorite accessories, and their clutches are always awesome. This particular clutch is no longer available, but I am loving these J.Crew clutches and this one Kate Spade clutch: here, here, and here.

Stylish Wedding
I would describe our wedding style inspiration as 1920s-glam, but I do love the look of stylish/more edgy weddings. I came across this on Green Wedding Shoes and was in awe of their awesome venue, and the incredible style of the bride and groom! I wouldn't change anything about our wedding planning/style/details, but I do love seeing how other couples' put together their big day. How amazing is her two-piece dress!?
