Fashion + Philanthropy Friday

Happy Friday! Happy Labor Day Weekend! This week's Fashion + Philanthropy item is FEED x Rachel Roy's limited edition bag {here} that provides 100 school meals to children in India.  Rachel Roy is an incredible designer so it should be no surprise that her collaboration with FEED resulted in such a fashion-forward product; it should also be noted that this bag is handmade and block-printed by local artisans in India which is yet another great way this bag gives back.  I absolutely love FEED products, and this is a bag I definitely have my eye on!

I will be out of town for Labor Day so there will be no post on Monday.  Have a great holiday weekend! :)

Chambray Summer

Since summer is technically over after Labor Day, I recently wore my favorite summer white shorts while I still could along with my new favorite staple: a chambray button down.    It's from the FEED x Target line, so I love that along with it's versatility it offered 22 meals for Americans in need!  I was hesitant to try chambray at first, thinking that it might be just a brief trend, but I have fallen in love with it and plan on wearing this shirt well into fall.

Asparagus + Blueberry

I love the street art in my neighborhood, particularly when it matches my outfit of the day! One of my favorites is the one with asparagus and blueberries {along with a hippie van!}, and ironically it matched perfectly with that I was wearing one afternoon; I love the concept of colorblocking, and these shades of blue + green seemed perfect for summer months.

Designer Spotlight: Anine Bing

I love discovering new brands and up-and-coming designers, and my most recent obsession is Anine Bing {check out here}.  Anine Bing has had a career in modeling and music, but recently created a clothing + accessories line that is all things edgy chic; the style is easy to wear, but made with the best quality fabrics and leathers which makes the BEST wardrobe staples.  I may need to invest in some of her pieces, especially since they will be perfect for fall!

Fashion + Philanthropy Friday

John Hardy has been one of my favorite jewelry designers for quite a while, and I am always pleased to see how the John Hardy brand gives back to charity.  John Hardy is a green-minded company that uses techniques to minimize their impact on the environment.  With the purchase of the 'Bamboo' silver ring below {buy from Nordstrom here}, John Hardy will plant one bamboo seedling.  I LOVE their luxurious silver jewelry, and love even more that they invest in the protection of the environment!

CMH Fashion Week 2013: Designer Fitting

I can't believe that CMH Fashion Week 2013 is so close!  I am so excited for the festivities, and after seeing the incredible talent beginning to finalize their collections this weekend I truly cannot wait! This past Sunday was one of the Designer Fittings for the finale show, and I had the opportunity to view and take some photos of the collections the hardworking designers are creating.  Here is a preview of what is to come this year for CMH Fashion Week {'like' their page here}:
