Thanksgiving Style: Look 2

I posted yesterday {here} that Thanksgiving style can usually go one of two ways: casual with loose enough clothes so you can pig out, or a little bit more dressed up {also loose fitting so you can pig out}. Around the holidays, I typically go for a more dressed up look, so below is something I would love to wear this Thanksgiving {I have that exact Essie shade on my nails right now!}:

Happy Thanksgiving week! I am SO excited for the holiday, and have been planning on what to wear. I usually lean towards a more dressed-up look for any holiday, but below is an idea for a more casual outfit {one that will allow for multiple servings of mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie}:

Plaid, tartan, flannel...whatever you call it, I love it all! No print or pattern is more appropriate for the fall and holiday months, and I hope to add some more plaid to my wardrobe this season. Here are some plaid items I currently love {image via Atlantic-Pacific}:

Seasonal Sparkle

I love this time of year for about a million different reasons, but one of them is being able to wear fun, sparkly jewelry all of the time. I bought this BaubleBar bracelet on sale back in the summer, but now that it is technically holiday season I have started to wear it on a regular basis {sign up for BaubleBar to earn points and get awesome discounts here}. I have been planning holiday outfits in my head lately, and I foresee a lot of statement bracelets, earrings, and necklaces to add some sparkle; I have my eye on these Gal Meets Glam x BaubleBar earrings, this Lulu Frost bracelet, and this J.Crew Factory bracelet. Where do you find the best statement/sparkly jewelry?

It is starting to get pretty chilly here in Georgia, but still not cold enough for a heavy fall or winter jacket. I love the look of an anorak, and it also would be the perfect jacket for the climate here. Below are a few that I like, but still keeping my eye on one from somewhere more affordable like H&M, Zara, or Topshop:

Friday, I'm In Love: Gourds

Happy Friday! This weekend will be all about gourds. I plan on getting a few colorful ones to add to this collection of monochromatic white tiny pumpkins, and decorate for the fall/Thanksgiving season. I can't believe Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away! Have a great weekend :)

I love that turtlenecks can be seen everywhere for fall fashion this year! It makes me very excited for the coming months, and wearing them around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Below is how I would style a turtleneck this season: with a couple of brooches, berry-hued lips and boots, and a great pair of jeans.

Sweater Season

Sweater season is here! Although it gets a liiiiittle bit too warm during the day for my liking here in Georgia, it does cool off at night enough so that sweaters are totally appropriate. I have a few favorites from last season that will be in rotation this season, and recently purchased this chunky knit Thakoon for DesigNation cardigan {here} that is as comfy as it looks. From top: BCBG Max Azria sweater, Thakoon for DesigNation at Kohls sweater {here}, Anthropologie sweater, J.Crew sweater, and TOMS for Target sweater.

Thanksgiving Decor

I think Thanksgiving is one of the most underrated holidays; personally, I also need a holiday in between Halloween and Christmas :) I plan on keeping our Thanksgiving decorations simple, but below are some Thanksgiving inspired decor and entertaining ideas that I want to try out one year:

Faux Fur Inspired

I love the look and feel of faux fur outerwear. I bought a faux fur vest from Forever21 last fall, and it is a staple in my autumn and winter wardrobe. I would love to add a faux fur jacket or coat to my closet, and a below are a few that I am currently loving {images via This Is Glamorous}:

Home and Interior Design Inspiration: New Orleans

I love interior decorating as much as I love fashion, and I have come to appreciate it even more once I had my first apartment to myself. I would describe my interior decorating style as "shabby chic", but I definitely can appreciate other styles. I saw this post on this INCREDIBLE New Orleans home, and although it is not my signature style, I think it is just stunning. The exterior of the home is amazing, and I love the white kitchen, but I think the best part is that green living room with that beautiful chandelier {all images via One Kings Lane}:

Mixed + Mismatched

I've posted before about how I love Olivia Palermo's style {see here}, and one trend that I think she does perfectly is the concept of mixed, even mismatched, prints. She somehow makes even the most unlikely patterns look so chic together. I want to try to be more adventurous with this trend, and below is a way I would love to try it out:

Mani Monday

Happy Monday! Although I am feeling slightly depressed about Halloween being over, it is still fall which is great for so many reasons - including dark nail polish :) The NARS x 3.1 Phillip Lim collection was an awesome one, and the "Dark Room" shade is one of my favorite nail polishes that I own {purchase here}. I wore it a few weekends ago, and plan on keeping it in rotation throughout fall and winter. What's your favorite dark nail polish?
